Rear bumper respray.

Post by tags »

Hi,

A heavy gate at work has been blown open and hit the rear bumper of the ///M. It now has a small "hole" about 20mm long by 4mm high. The bumper is plastic so can it be filled and sprayed? Anybody know roughly howm much a bumper respray would cost? The colour is Estoril Blue.

Regards,

Bad luck mate, i would think about £150 - £200.

With filling you have to be careful as it can crack.

Hi, Sorry to hear about the damage mate.

I've had my rear bumper resprayed twice by dealers (Fairfield Southend), at a cost of £280 a go.

Luckily the eeeejits that drove into me paid each time.

might be a little bit more than £200, because of the hole it can't be just filled, it has to have a piece plastic welded in and then filled and smoothed before it can be painted, and for best results the bumper needs to be removed, although it can be done in place it's much easier to spot a bumper that's been painted if it's been done on the car.

Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks for the replys. I will have to call into a bodyshop and get them to give me a quote.

I'll keep you posted (I sort an image out later).
