A minor problem, but an annoying one.
The light in the indicator for the auto gearbox seems to come and go. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I want to check the bulb, but I'm not sure how you get at it - any advice please?
Thanks
Richard
Automatic gearbox position indicator
Re: Automatic gearbox position indicator
first remove the gear knob.
you pull up on it really hard and subsequently hit yourself in the face.
I think you put it in neutral first.
the whole unit is fixed with plastic tabs on its perimeter and simply pushes into place.
dont make the mistake of using a small flat head to prise it out as you'll damage the very thin plastic lip/edge that hides the gap like I did, instead I would try and pull up on the side of centre console which is quite flexible, reach in and push it out.
I had the same problem as you, mine turned out not to be the bulb but the big yellow connector.

Designed or not designed, that is the question.
Re: Automatic gearbox position indicator
Thanks. Tried it and got access OK. Didn’t hit my self in the face . The problem seems to be with the position of the light relative to the window. In some positions it’s not exactly “in” the window meaning that the light doesn’t show properly. Bulb seems to be working OK. Thanks for your tips.

Yurp, I know what you are referring to.... The telescopic fingy-mi-bob...
You can adjust this just by moving it up/down
