I’m going to tackle the rusty wing mirror bases. I don’t seem to be able to find the aerosol paint in topaz blue. Do body repair places mix up aerosols?

Aerosol Paint
Re: Aerosol Paint
In Kent we had several automotive paint supply shops that would mix paint to order and put it in a spray can. I suspect that most paint suppliers will although finding one open and willing to do it at the moment might be difficult. Have you tried Halfords? They do Titan Silver which is spot on so they may also do your colour.

Thank you. Yes you’re right about whether they are open or not I keep forgetting. I do have a Halfords I was just sure I’d seen a bmw aerosol kit you could buy.
Maybe not.

My Z3 is Estoril Blue Metallic which seems to be hard to find. I bought a can from the Scratch Doctor which is exactly the right shade.

Certain Halford shops do mix colours up, if they haven't got the colour you want.

Looks like Halfords do the topaz blue code 364. Worth a go I think.Fender2004 wrote:Certain Halford shops do mix colours up, if they haven't got the colour you want.
Going to use the zinc 182 as a primer after getting all the old bubbled paint off. I’ve seen an old YouTube video that uses a belt sander to get down to metal then a smooth filler before prime and paint.
If it goes well I will attempt the lower wing corner.
